Three practices that can bring more awareness into you life.
I wish I could bust out my old Webster Dictionary and give you the definition for Awareness. However, I could not seem to find it anywhere, so, instead, I opened dictionary.com and got this definition for you.
Awareness (noun): the state or condition of being aware; having knowledge; consciousness.
As Soaring Eagle Healing continues to take shape, Awareness has become essential part of all the offerings, which include: Reiki Sessions, Dancing Mindfulness and Meditations. The mission of Soaring Eagle is "Healing and Creating Through Awareness." The one thing I believe to be true after reading, writing, being a part of many seminars and exploring my own spirituality, is that awareness is always expanding. No matter if we are engaged in realizing how we are reacting to a circumstance or if we are not awake to how we are reacting, I believe we are always expanding with these different opportunities that are truly lessons from the universe. It is not about if we can control and arrange all that we see on the outside. It is, instead, about being aware of our own reaction and flowing with life. Thus bringing in awareness and love daily.
On a scale of 1 to 10, how aware are you today?
I believe that Awareness is the space that we create for ourselves that is uniquely ours. It is the space that allows us to stand back from our thoughts, emotions and the ego to be a mindful watcher. It also provides space to listen to our inner-self and creates wonderful opportunity for miracles.
The recommendations below are meant to help you continue your own awareness journey. The tools are not what brings the awareness, they are things that can spark the realization inside. These three recommendations below are suggestions to bring out the magic that is and has been inside of you always.
1. Read More, Watch TV Less - About three years ago, I cancelled our television carrier while we went on a long vacation. From that point forward, we did not have a carrier for a long time and only had an antennae (I know right, pretty prehistoric). Since then we have moved to some Netflix and a Roku stick, just so you know that my hubby and kids are not deprived. The point is this forced me to move to a place where each night I was reading rather than watching TV (note: I am not saying stop watching TV all together but watching in moderation). I was reading A LOT. I read fiction, I read non-fiction, I read self-help, I read so many wonderful books. I truly believe that reading all these books and practicing the ideas and tools have been a big contribution to my expansion of awareness. It has become a habit and a tool for me to bring out what is inside me and I love it. So you may be saying, I am not a big reader, well there are also some great podcasts and other opportunities to listen to awareness adventurers that are all around us. Explore the options of books, podcasts or following your favorite speaker and see where it all may take you on your journey.
P.S. These books I have read are available in my Awareness Library that you have access to with the purchase of one of my packages (click here to see packages).
2. Meditate Often - I am going to be totally honest, it took me a really long time to get into meditation. I remember when my kids were little, I would go into the bathroom for about 2 minutes, squirm and try to sit still, and ultimately someone needed something from me in that time I was trying to set aside. Needless to say, I was not feeling like meditation was my thing. Well the universe had other plans, and continued to bring meditation to me through many avenues including phone apps, the free meditations with Deepak and Oprah and more. Over time, my kids left me alone when "mom was meditating," and I was able sit longer and longer. Meditation is a time not to erase all thoughts, but to sit with them and be the silent observer. It is a practice of not diving so deeply into every thought so that the emotions attached to them are like a roller coaster.
So give it a shot, there is no such thing as doing it right or wrong. You cultivate your own practice and make it your own. I am excited to provide you a great opportunity to give meditation another chance or move deeper into your meditation practice now.
A fun reveal I have for you upcoming: I will be releasing recorded meditations that you can do in less than 10 minutes each day. This will be a series of five that correlate with the 5 Elements of Nature (Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Space). The meditation series will be coming out on my Facebook Page and by email the week of August 19th.

3. Try Different Awareness Tools - When I first started my journey, I remember reading "The Power of Now" by Eckhart Tolle and thinking there is more, so much more to my life than what I saw at that moment. Literally, from that point forward I plunged in with both feet to tools that would help me uncover my own awareness. I tried modalities like acupuncture, reflexology, massage, Reiki, DANCING and other opportunities that came to me through this exploration. Maybe for you this means trying a nutritionist or going to different workshops at the local health food store. There are many possibilities around us to be engaged in our awareness, which also moves us deeper into our well-being and health. So go for it, trust your inner voice and make that appointment for REIKI, for massage or for the nutritionist you just ran into last week. Or go to that DANCING CLASS (coming up on July 21st and 23rd!) that I have been telling you about in all my newsletters. Or (I know just one more...) come to that class on Mindful Creations on September 14th, where you make your own Mala and take time for you.
The journey of awareness is personal and sacred. Be an Explorer! Try something new this week that adds to your awareness toolbox. AND If you are so inclined, comment below this post and let me know what you are finding is expanding your awareness right now.
As always thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day!
